About
Hi new friends! James here. I'm just going to write freely about GLHF.GG, I dont have time to make this page look all fancy with cool pictures and animated gifs that people use to obsessivly shove into their websites back in the 90's...damn I need some of them! but heres the low down!
GLHF.GG was originally registered in 2009, My original concept for the website wasn't anything todo with hosting my own tournaments, it was actually to build an eSport database. Which would help gamers learn to become professionals by various different methods, promote eSports (teams, commentators, leagues, sponsors and more) but also document eSport history across various games. So we could track what eSports has done over the years
This project was so huge I ended up redesigning the database various times and eventually went insane :)
Today I've had the opportunity to work with Bloodline Champions as eSport Manager. And my want to push the game forward drove me to start glhf.gg as a very small tournament/database website. the main reason in doing so was to ensure the gamers of Bloodline Champions have great tournaments NOW! the reason why its important now is because the ingame tournament system didnt get released on Launch. and though im sure ESL/Gamesports and other great tournament organizors will eventually run somekind of BLC activities, while we wait for them to get organized, I wanted to offer something now to the great community of Bloodline Champions. So I guess GLHF.GG is me and friends giving something back to you guys. Its also worth mentioning I have no want to become the most dominant tournament organizor in the world! I very much look forward to other more professional organizations running tournaments. So I can go back to eSport Managing :)
So, what am I doing on glhf.gg? well there will be a weekly tournament with prize money, and a monthly finals with a bigger prize pool. all prize money is paid out of my pocket. and im very happy todo so
thats kinda it....
well time to thank those who helped!
Bobbalanx - Graphics
GreasedScotsman - Database
Markus Viitamäki - Hosting
Theres like alot more that helped me on my merry way, including Salome/NVC/Technics
and some who are helping me now, including rexas/programerarnarnerarn and bykkarn. *high fives all round*
But yeah... I'll update the thankyou's later :) oh, and if you wondering whats next for glhf.gg erm.... well I want to help Apollo have something to shoutcast in sc2. So I would do SC2 tournaments if I can find a sponsor. if your interested just email james@glhf.gg and I'd quite like to commentate some quakelive again. I owe that community and development team alot. So same deal as SC2.
thanks for reading, hope you enjoy the tournaments!
